He holds a Masters Degree in Management and is a Certified Clinical Addictions Specialist. He has 27 years of professional experience in the field
of substance abuse, serving for 9 years as the Executive Director of on of the Southeast's largest (52 bed) detox centers. Additionally he has served as Interim Director for Mental
Health Services for the largest area mental health program in North Carolina, with
responsibilities including a full 66 bed inpatient psychiatric
hospital and outpatient clinic. He has served as a member and past Chairman of the North Carolina Substance Abuse
Professional Certification Board, the State Board that certifies all Substance Abuse Professionals in North Carolina.
Over the past 10 years he has worked with hundreds of organizations in instituting effective substance abuse testing and employee assistance programs. He contributes as both the state and national levels in advising on workplace testing issues. Currently he is working with the National Alliance of Model State Drug Laws as their testing and employee assistance program administrator and is contributing
